Luthier Services & Pricing
General repairs and luthier services are priced according to hours of work and materials required to complete the repair.
Base Prices Listed Below (2024-2025 Pricing Guide)
$55 Standard Setup (includes new strings)
$80 Premium Setup
(Includes fret leveling and re-crowning if needed)
***Setups do not include a new nut or saddle.
$30 Custom Bone Nut
$50 Graphite, Micarta, or Carbon nut
$75 Tusq or other custom nut
$15 – 30 (avg.) New Saddle
(Prices vary depending on the instrument type, material availability/cost, and time to fabricate + setup)
$150 Partial Re-Fret
(Up to 8 frets + Basic Setup Included)
$250 – $300 Standard Re-Fret
(Nickle Frets Only + light fb cleanup)
$450-550 Premium Re-Fret
(Any Frets + full fingerboard restoration and resurfacing)
*Inlay repairs must be assessed individually and will be an additional charge.
*Setups are included in the cost of all Re-Frets, however, new nuts and saddles are an additional fee.

1850’s German made parlor guitar restoration. Partially installed cleats used to stabilize cracks in European Spruce top plate. (Restoration in 2006-2007)
Our comprehensive services include full restoration of historical and vintage instruments including accurate use of period materials such as hot hide glue, raw shellac for “French Polishing”, and cleat installation for traditional crack repairs or stabilzation of tops, sides, and back plates.
