Steel String Guitars

Modern American-Made guitars crafted with one of a kind bracing, exclusive top thickness designs, and world class french polished finishes.

An exceptional guitar is critical for musicians who want to remove distractions from their playing like buzzing strings and awkward action. A Cioni Steel String Guitar will provide focused reliable projection and remarkably accurate intonation that doesn’t falter or fade over a few years time. These guitars start out “a head above the rest” and only get better in time.

A great guitar doesn’t just look good it must function as a precision instrument and also be durable enough to handle the wear and tear of regular playing while “aging with grace.” Although it’s rare to get a steel string guitar with a French Polish, there are some great advantages to the time honored finish. Nitro-cellulose or lacquer finishes gradually shrink and tend to yellow over time, while a shellac French Polish is basically neutral and has the added advantage of being very easy to “touch up” or re-finish entirely if some damage or wear becomes destructive to the wood of the guitar.

Hand Made Archtops

Sculpture in the form of a guitar. A true luxury for those players with discriminating taste in high quality instruments.

Cioni Archtop Guitars are shaped, fitted out, and assembled entirely by hand. These archtops are heavily based on guitars designed by D’Angelico, Benedetto, and Monteleone, these archtops are sure to impress any musician. Cioni guitars are built to provide a lifetime of reliable performance and incredible resonance. True hand carved 18″ solid wood guitars are incredibly hard to find and the smaller 17″ and 16″ models have surprisingly deep bass even for a smaller bodied archtop. Take advantage of these low prices as long as the demand can be met. Similar handmade instruments begin at prices 3 or 4 times higher than these current prices. (2017)

Classical / Flamenco

The traditional guitar as it’s been made since the time of Antonio de Torres. These classical and flamenco guitars can be used or played for any style of music. There are differences in the responsiveness and harmonic sustain of each guitar as well as cosmetic differences due to different types and thicknesses of wood, inlay and binding details. The simple advantage is that with any a handmade Cioni Guitar the musician will have an instrument with a world class French Polish Finish, an incredible range of tonal and dynamic reserve, and extremely comfortable setup regarding the action and play-ability of the guitar.

$3,500  / Light Wood Guitars (Traditional for Flamenco)

Light wood guitars have a more of a punch in the fundamental tone when plucked or struck slightly less harmonic sustain with moderate “percussiveness.”

$4,500  / Dark Wood Guitars (Traditional for Classical)

Dark wood guitars have clear bell like tonal character with slightly more note separation and more harmonic sustain which helps to fill out melodic passages and gives the guitar a characteristic “darkness” or “mystery” to the tone and sustain.

Bracing options vary and can be custom ordered. Cioni guitars also provide new bracing designs specially developed for increased projection and tone color with exceptional dynamic responsiveness and reserve.

Ukuleles

Inspired by the sound of waves and tropical melodies of Hawaii. These Ukes pack a serious punch and rich deep tones that most players don’t expect from a small instrument.

The secret is in the construction. Each Uke is carefully assembled using the same master grade materials as the finest classical and flamenco guitars as well as exotic mahogany and koa. The lightness of the instrument is the key to it’s potent tone and responsiveness. There is nothing more satisfying than picking up an instrument that jumps to life at the slightest touch of a string and seems to project more volume than should be possible from a small seemingly simple instrument.

Ukuleles offer a unique opportunity for musical experimentation and intimate interpretation of any musical style.
